Now is that time to start the cab rusted floor, it's a mess and it need to be fit. I started by removing the floor rubber mat and getting the grinder to clear the rust and dirt a way to see how far the rust has spread. I need to repair the body mount support u shape channel beam before the new floor panel is install.

I like these add they look real cool and I am thinking of drawing me one of my own in the style of the 70's of my 1988 ford econoline 150 van it will be nice. I am going to dust off my drafting table and start sketching one up and I'll post it up on here when I am done with it.

I always wanted a MIG Welder as long as I can remember, I know I needed on by when I first bought my van it was rusty in a few spot. If I had it back then I could of cut out the bad area with new sheet metal. I have the old school style auto body and fender repair style when I was in school for auto body and paint.
This replacement rust repair panel I can say its finish and done for now, next thing to do will be the lower door skin  repair and then the front cab inner floor rust repair on both side need work.

Back at it again welding grinding and cutting was deal for today. The welder is out of flux core wire so I have to stop working until I buy another roll.

Today is Sunday, I was going to work on the van but I decided just to kick back and relax. My welder is running low on flux core wire and will have to stop until I can get a new roll to continue my work and time is limited with winter that will be knocking on my door, then I have to wait to next spring to start work again and time is ticking.

My van looks nice with this set of rims, Its going to be great when I am done with all the rust repair work and then move on the bodywork bondo filler and primer then paint and maybe a mural. Its still a dream until then I'll keep working and pushing on my 1988 ford Econoline 150 cargo van.
This a piece I did in New York City in the Bronx.

Here I am working hard to finish up the drop back panel and the wheel-well panel (RUST) it was a tight spot to fabricate and to work on. The inner floor was rotted and needed to be replace as well so it took a lot longer to wrap up before I can install the outer panel which I pre-cut to fit in place.

I had to take a break from working on my 1988 ford Econoline 150, I had  to go to New York City in  the Bronx for a get together with a group of Artist that I grow up with as a young kid living in the Bronx. had a great time but now need to get to work on the van.

Here in the picture I am repairing the rotted area of the drop off panel I decided to not replace the whole drop off panel and just repair what was bad, I had to fabricate manny parts.

Today I got a chance to slice and dice the lower side panel on the drivers side on the 1988 ford Econoline 150 and did some cut out of some of the bad rust on the drop panel and welded new sheet metal in place and repair it before I size in the new panel in place. taking my time not in no rush to patch things up and plus I need to buy some new sheet metal real soon.

This is probably the way the rim will look like when I buy then in the future and by then I may change my mind. The paint color on the van will not be the one on the van right now but it will be painted midnight metallic blue the original paint code of the van when it was new, plus I will be painting a airbrush mural on both side panels.

1988 Econoline 150 rust repair.

I brought my Econoline 150 van in 2003 it was my first time ever having something so big and so much room. At that time its was what i needed to haul my stuff around town. I'm a Visual Artist muralist so the van was great for me, but when I brought the van it was in bad shape had a lot of surface rust almost all over it. I did a quick patch job with body-filler and primed then painted it with a mural on the side of the van and it looked real cool. around 2009 I stop driving the van and had it park for about 2-1/2 year and it started to rust away on me so me and my brothers and friends help me clean it up a bit to check out the  damage and was Bad so I started ordering sheet metal panels for the van one panel at a time cause i knew it will be expensive if had to buy it all at once. in the picture me and my younger brother are working on control the rust and changing all the brake lines from the master cylinder back.
